“I sat down with Corinne 18 weeks ago. I was looking forward to beginning a new exercise routine, but I really wanted to lose weight and feel like an athlete again, or at least as athletic as a 40 year old man with a job and two kids can feel. I had lost 10 pounds on several occasions, but typically would put it back on as quickly as I lost it. We spent an hour walking through my eating and drinking habits, exercise routine, and talking about why I was not having any continued success. Corinne put together a very simple, easy to follow eating plan. She pointed out in the nicest possible way that I was eating like a “Sumo wrestler” and that one big meal a day would only continue to exacerbate my problem. She gave me some calorie guidelines, an easy to follow meal plan and some easy ways to journal my eating and track my progress along with my workout program.

She was also very clear about the gotchas – (alcohol, sugar, etc). What I loved was this was not an elimination diet. If I want a glass of wine, I can have one, but I try not to have two, and I avoid it regularly because I know it will impact my weight loss. The results have been staggering. I am closing in on 40 pounds lost, with 10 pounds to go to my first goal, and 10% of my body fat lost. I am working out 5 days a week. I am sleeping better. I am stronger, more fit, and look closer to the athlete that I’d like to resemble. My favorite part is that this is sustainable and simple.

Corinne also goes the extra mile to help make sure that the program sticks. She sends weekly email reminders with tips and recipes. She begs for feedback and goes out of her way to make herself available for checkins and motivation. I could not be more pleased that I decided to take the step to sign up with her.”

I wanted to extend my sincere thanks to you for your guidance and support in my nutrition/workout program. I finally feel successful and have attained so many of the results that I was striving for. With your expert knowledge and through our nutrition sessions, I was finally able to make the nutrition component work for me!

As I expressed to you when we first started working together, I always felt like I put so much effort into my exercise routine and went to great time and expense to eat correctly, yet still, I was unhappy with the results that I was able to achieve. Through my sessions with you, I was able to gain valuable information and insight as to why this was the case. Not only did you help me to understand what was missing in my diet, but how important it was to eat the right things at the right times. Now, I am so happy to report that I am at my ideal weight, I feel fantastic and I have attained the body composition that I had worked so hard for all along!

Thanks so much for your time, expertise and support. Working with you has been a life-changing experience and I would recommend you highly to anyone interested in making the nutrition component work for them. You rock!”

A friend told me about Corinne when I complimented her on her recent weight loss.  I had a stubborn 15 post-menopausal pounds that I had been carrying around for about 10 years; so I figured, at age 66, I’d better get serious about losing it. Still, seeing a nutritionist for help in losing weight had never occurred to me until then.

Corinne is very professional, very bright, pleasant and encouraging.  But best of all she really knows her stuff.  She analyzed my eating habits, my preferences for foods, my general life style and prepared a plan for addressing my concerns.  Her focus has always been to find nutritious foods that I will like to eat, while teaching me a strategy for eating to encourage weight loss. And her plan WORKS. To date I have lost 11 of those stubborn pounds, and the plan continues. As Corinne says “This is not a diet, it’s a life style.”  So, even when I have reached my particular goal, I believe I will continue to eat according to her general recommendations.

I will not say that this process has been completely easy, but I will say that it is absolutely possible to lose weight without feeling deprived or suffering severe hunger.  When I’m hungry, I eat.  There is definitely some discipline involved – no more mindless munching on snacks whenever I like.  But the rewards for becoming more mindful and disciplined about eating are that I feel better, look better, actually fit into my clothes, and have lots more energy than before. Thank you Corinne.”

“I met with Corinne in January 2011 and told her my goal was to gain energy, feel better, and lose about 10 pounds. I liked Corinne’s approach to reaching that goal right away. First of all, she asks a lot of questions: What are your eating habits? What is your work? Are you stressed? Do you exercise or not? How is your general health? And more. Then she listens.

Corinne takes everything into account and lays out a plan to get you started. If you are not comfortable with something, Corinne helps you with alternatives. Nothing is set in stone.

I was a little skeptical at first but willing to take her advice. Clearly, Corinne knows what she’s doing. Less than three months later I’ve lost the extra weight, my energy has picked up, and I’ve learned that what I eat, when I eat, and how much I eat is not that difficult to manage when you have advice tailored to you.

With all the news about health, fitness, and diet that circulates in the media, magazines and the internet, it would be difficult for even the best-informed of us to make sense of it all. It is refreshing to meet a professional such as Corinne to help you sort through your concerns and questions.

I feel very fortunate to have met Corinne and would recommend her to anyone serious about making positive changes for their health and well-being.”

“Corinne has helped me with putting together a flexible food plan that works with my lifestyle and goals. I am thrilled with the results!”

“I exercise regularly – I did the Marin Century two years in a row (100 mile bike ride), but I continued to struggle with excess weight! Having a crazy work schedule managing a restaurant didn’t help either. I had the information, I had the desire and the will, but I had to face the fact that without a change in my lifestyle, I was not getting results.

Corinne listened to my dilemma and came up with a solid plan. It isn’t fun, it isn’t easy, and I need to check in every couple of weeks to help stay on track, but for the first time in my life I’m getting results. Currently, I’m down to 235 from 253 lbs. (18 pounds lost in 2 ½ months), and am focused on my first goal of 225 lbs. And this being the holidays – even I am impressed – with Corinne and myself! I see her again in two weeks – I’m almost, err, I mean, I am looking forward to seeing more of Corinne … and less of me . She has been instrumental in helping me gain control of my weight and rediscovering my potential. Thanks Corinne. See you soon!”

“After being diagnosed with menopause at age 44, I was struggling with never feeling satisfied when I ate and having trouble with my digestion in other ways as well. My doctor took me off of dairy completely and I was stymied, as that was my major source of protein. I love cheese and yogurt and ate them daily.

I asked Corinne to help me find other, more healthy options for protein and snacking and began a huge learning curve in the area of diet, nutrition, and ways to eat, so that I felt satisfied and healthy.

As I work with Corinne, I have become more aware of my food choices and what the results are. I’ve broken down in tears in her office as I faced binge sugar eating related to hormone surges with my hormone replacement therapy, and I’ve celebrated “wins” as I chose exercise and a salad over mindless eating in front of the TV. Whether I’m feeling good and successful, or feeling like a failure and discouraged, Corinne is right there for me, helping me all along the way to feel good about my progress, while normalizing my set-backs.

I’m so grateful I found such a kind, genuine, positive and enthusiastic nutrition consultant in Corinne to make this major hurdle in my life possible to clear with grace and dignity, even as I falter as I learn to embrace new habits and patterns related to eating.

Corinne is a gem and really goes the extra mile to assure my success.”

“After years of unhealthy eating behaviors and increasing weight gain, I was feeling unhappy in body, mind, and spirit. With my wedding on the horizon, I had hit a plateau with my weight and didn’t know if I had the willpower to change.

During my initial consult, Corinne helped me relax about the process of dieting because, to my surprise, it wasn’t about restricting my diet. I’d be eating a lot of delicious and nutritious food. Corinne’s knowledge about foods that work WITH your body helped me better understand how incorporating certain foods could add beneficial nutrients that stimulate weight loss and a happier mood the natural way. She also helped me make adjustments to my diet that fulfilled my psychological need for food (eating when bored, for example), and replace fattening or empty-calorie foods with yummy, healthy alternatives (Greek yogurt, anyone?). With some modifications to my workout, I started seeing results.

Corinne was easy-going, motivating, and mostly importantly, non-judgmental… She let me have that piece of chocolate once in awhile because after working hard to improve my habits, I deserved it.”

“Corinne’s enthusiasm for food and nutrition is contagious! As a nutrition educator for our group, she was super engaging and her creativity added a fun element to the course. She is skilled in breaking down complex nutrition concepts so they are easy to understand and apply and has a knack for engaging members of a group on a personal level, through asking pertinent questions and providing individual attention. Corinne’s calm demeanor and warm personality helps everyone feel comfortable and at ease!”

“Corinne is more than approachable. For her, nutrition is not abstract advice that any mother can give you at the dinner table, but neither is it complicated scientific jargon provided by a stuffy man in a lab coat. Her facts are targeted based on YOU—your goals, your lifestyle, your body type. Simple. If you know what you want and communicate it to her clearly, she’ll tell you exactly what you need to do. She’s warm, friendly, and fun. You can talk about nutrition while feeling totally relaxed, as if you were having a chat with a close friend, but she cuts right to the chase and doesn’t waste any time outlining the steps you need to take to lead a healthier life. For her, nutrition is about answers. She’s a fun coach and a brilliant teacher.

I came to Corinne after going to the ER for mild fatty liver disease. It was surprising, because the typical fatty liver patient is middle-aged, obese, or pregnant—I was none of these things.

I had always considered myself healthy. I was skinny, tall, and young, I ate very little fast food or junk foods, and I exercised nearly four times a week. However, I was eating large amounts of starches and fruits that, although healthy in smaller portions, can cause damage in excess. So when I stepped into Corinne’s office, I had only a very general goal: to adjust my eating habits. Fast. Having eaten pretty much the same food types since childhood, changing those habits was not going to be easy. I mean, when is it ever?

Corinne started out with brief introductions (goals, history, blah blah) but immediately got to the point. I wrote down everything I ate that day, and together we looked up the nutritional information of every food item I had put into my stomach in the past twenty-four hours. The results were astonishing. Very little protein and fiber…lots of sugar. I never read the fine print. Now I know how important it is.

Corinne took out a new sheet of paper and together we came up with alternates for each meal. We filled out nearly four sheets—front and back—illustrating all the possible foods I could eat for my required six meals a day. If I didn’t like something she suggested, or we thought it would be too difficult to pick up as a habit (I’m not much of a tuna person…or nut person…or anything that isn’t pasta person), we would scratch it off and pick something new. After nearly two hours of alternating between our sheet and the computer screen (looking up nutrition facts), we finally came up with a plan.

I’ve been following the plan ever since. She had me record the next three days just to check in and make adjustments as necessary. I took a couple liberties and we explored them a bit (smoked salmon on crackers is now my favorite snack) and I feel so much healthier. I traveled to Ireland to study abroad and emailed Corinne with problems I had (for example, the Irish have notoriously small fridges, so Corinne pointed out some awesome non-perishable options) and I really feel like I can rely on her. I can give her a call or email and she’ll respond with lots of information and advice. She also has great handouts and reading material in case you want to learn about nutrition in a detailed way.

So if you want someone who is relaxed when talking about nutrition, but still cuts to the chase when push comes to shove—who is fun and friendly and smart—then I’d try Corinne. You’d be surprised how much you learn about yourself…and more importantly, food.”
